Hong Kong’s bass music cultivators, Kongkretebass, are back this September with another forward thinking booking! On Saturday, 25th September we will introduce one of the legends of UK Dubstep / Grime / Bass Music scene, KODE9 (HyperDub / UK).

► Having just release a mix on the infamous DJ-Kicks compilation, KODE9, the head honcho of the record label “Hyperdub” will grace the dex in Hong Kong for the first time!

Kode9 has released tracks on Aphex Twin’s Rephlex label, pioneering dubstep labels Tempa, Domino and his own Hyperdub imprint and has remixed artists such as the Junior Boys and Dabrye Feat.

Hyperdub label releasing artists such as the Spaceape, Warrior Queen, the Bug and Burial, and now with the latest release of Ikonika’s ablum on Hyperdub – “Contact, Love, Want, Have”, which is truly ground breaking in every sense .

香港的低音音樂班霸Kongkretebass於今年9月再次出動, 於9月25日星期六大家要在Backstage Live齊集好了, 這次帶給大家的是在Dubstep/Grime/低音音樂界的傳奇 – Kode 9

在剛剛在DJ – Kicks 專輯系列中發布mixtape的Hyperdub廠牌主腦-Kode9即將迎來在香港的首次表演!

Kode 9曾經在 Aphex Twins的Rephlex廠牌，Dubstep界的先鋒廠牌Tempa.，Domino廠牌和他自家的 Hyperdub廠牌發布過不少的作品，他還有幫不同的音樂人做remix, 例如Junior Boys 和 Dabrye Feat。

ABOUT KODE9 (HyperDub) / UK)

Based in South London, Kode9s hyperdub sound is difficult to define, sometimes with beats, sometimes without, sometimes with a vocalist, sometimes without, the only continuity is the heavy sub bass. Currently, Kode9’s DJ sets travel through a selection of dancehall influenced bass heavy skank, currently referred to as grime and dubstep. In 2006 he mixed the Dubstep Allstars Vol.3 CD compilation on Tempa records with vocalist Spaceape and released their debut album, ‘Memories of the Future’.

Kode9 runs the record label Hyperdub (releasing artists such as the Spaceape, Warrior Queen, the Bug and Burial). For 4 years, he hosted the weekly Fwd>> show on Rinse FM, London’s grime and dubstep pirate radio station, and is one of the rotating DJs at DMZ, the seminal dubstep night in London.

He has released tracks on Aphex Twin’s Rephlex label, pioneering dubstep labels Tempa, Domino and his own Hyperdub imprint and has recently remixed artists such as the Junior Boys and Dabrye Feat.

His DJ sets have helped spread the South London sound internationally, to East Asia, Europe, South America, North America and Australia.

In 2007, from Sonar in Barcelona to Mutek in Montreal, they are giving exclusive performances of their un-live ‘Bass Fiction’ set, which mixes their old and new material in a new, intense, bass-submerged mutation.

DJ and MC sets have helped spread the South London sound through the world taking him to Japan, Singapore, Brazil South America, North America and Australia. But 2007 saw the launch of their unique project Bass Fiction Live, which brings the studio to the stage and mixes their old and new material in a new, intense, bass-submerged mutation.
