New Bass Music mix: Kongkast # 185 – feat. ALLEY CAT (KOKESHI, ESP, Feline/ UK)

This week, we welcome back one of our previous guest on Kongkast. It’s been exactly 4 years since the day we first had her mix on our website, and we couldn’t be happier to have her back.
Kongkretebass Kongkast # 185 featuring ALLEY CAT (KOKESHI, ESP, Feline/ UK).  Since her previous mix with us 3 years ago, Alley Cat and her label “KOKESHI” has gone from strength to strength.

With their highly successful “Kokeshi ((pod)) Kast” broadcasting a spectrum of bass music, as well as club nights called “KOKESHI KLUB” at the infamous Fabric London.

With the recent release of the CD ‘Kompilation’, the label’s biggest project to date, dropped in October 2012, featuring tunes from the Kokeshi ((pod)) Kasts. The 13-track CD was offered in both unmixed and a mixed format put together by Alley Cat herself. The album launch at Fabric showcased the eclectic theme behind the label with artists on the night Calibre, Lung, Irrelvant, Alley Cat and LX:One.

Many thanks to Alley Cat for this exclusive mix! We look forward to more great music from the label!

More info about ALLEY CAT:
Alley Cat’s current passion is her record label Kokeshi. Focusing on deep bass music across various BPMs, the label has gone from strength to strength since it’s inception in 2009. With label nights across Europe and several events at London superclub Fabric under her belt, Alley Cat and the Kokeshi label will continue with more releases and labels nights in the coming months. The CD ‘Kompilation’, the label’s biggest project to date, dropped in October 2012, featuring tunes from the Kokeshi ((pod)) Kasts. The 13-track CD was offered in both unmixed and a mixed format put together by Alley Cat herself. The album launch at Fabric showcased the eclectic theme behind the label with artists on the night Calibre, Lung, Irrelvant, Alley Cat and LX:One.

Over the last few years Kokeshi received various accolades including winning Best Remix of 2010 (Dubstepforum) for the Kryptic Minds Remix of Lung’s ‘Afterlife.’ Larger labels have taken notice with both Get Darker and Ministry of Sound featuring sveral tracks on their huge compilations..

Alley Cat has introduced the label’s own sound through the Kokeshi ((pod)) kasts and with releases that feature the emotive dreamy yet bass heavy sound ranging from 130 to 170 BPM.
