It’s the middle of the European summer, and things are heating up also on Kongkast! This week, we are very excited to host one of my personal favourite local producers out of Dresden – WOLFKID (Spur1 / Dresden, Germany).
Having met Wolfkid (Eric) through a local gather – Producers Meeting – and spoken in great details about production etc, Wolfkid is a young producer, but with information full of technical know-hows in production. Which really shows in his own production from his Soundcloud and releases.
A standout milestone: a remix of Alec Troniq’s “Whazzgo Whazzgo” — a well-known name in Dresden’s electronic scene, which really shows his diversity and high quality production methods.

WOLFKID is the solo project of producer, sound designer, and audio engineer Eric Witzel, based in Dresden, Germany.
Musically, it moves between delicate piano lines and dark, driving basslines — distorted beats and vocals meeting introspective calm, with a lately more explorative electronic edge.
The question that runs through it all: “what story am I actually telling? In the end, it always comes back to your own.”
Inseparable from WOLFKID today is SPUR1 — originally a Dresden radio show for electronic music on air since 2003, which grew over the years into a fixture of the local scene, with its own event series, booking work, and, in 2013, the founding of the label Spur1-Music.
When the label faded into quiet, WOLFKID took it over in 2020 and revived it as Spur1Records — later SPUR1-MEDIA. Since then, Eric has taken on several roles there: label management, technical development of the platform, and organizing the “Producer Meeting Dresden”, a space for local producers to exchange and connect.
This dual role — as artist and as the driving force behind SPUR1 — also shapes WOLFKID’s sound: informed by constant contact with other producers, a technical understanding of sound and studio work, and a scene he’s helped build himself.
Since the project’s early days in 2018, WOLFKID’s catalog has grown into a deep body of work — albums, EPs, singles, remixes, and collaborations spanning genres from ambient and dark electronic pop to techno, drum and bass and breakbeat, moving fluidly between introspective, atmospheric tracks and harder, club-facing material.
Recent releases include VANGUARD, UNLEAVE, ABUNDANCE, DREAMT, CAPTIVATED, and WE ARE, alongside collaborations like Kodoku and WE CAN’T STOP.
A standout milestone: a remix of Alec Troniq’s “Whazzgo Whazzgo” — a well-known name in Dresden’s electronic scene — released via SPUR1-MEDIA alongside reworks from artists like MeLode and Andreas Henneberg.
In 2026, WOLFKID can be caught live at Stroga Festival, among others.
