Kongkretebass’ is very own DJ Wash has been invited by the ChAos! for a night of Jungle and “Trick or Treat” @ the Grand House in GuangZhou on Saturday, 30th Oct 2010. The night will feature MC Rebearth, JCC (ChAos) and DJ A-Rock (CAN).

Trick or Treat it’s Halloween嘈！ChAos (ChaosLab) style. We are elaborately and ghoulishly devising a manic nightmare for you – ChAos In The Jungle! A Halloween haunting not to be missed.

More importantly, on all Hallows Eve, we have brought back from the dead, another evil heavyweight – DJ Wash (feat. Rebearth MC) from Kongkretebass, definitely the best drum&bass DJ in China, and one of the best DJs in China.

The night will start out with DJ A-Rock (CAN) spinning some hauntingly funky dark house treats for you to feast on and get you in the spooky mood.Then your local vampire DJ JCC brings up the BPMs unleashing her terrorizing style of dark Drum & Bass.Dress in your best dark and scary costume and feel the chills running down your spin with Halloweens best DJ Line-up.

We’re finally Back! After a quick rest from our recent event featuring Kode9, we’re back with another kongkast for your pleasure!

This week, we have one of the South East Asia”s finest! Vortex (Qilin Music / Singapore)!
As a pioneer in Singapore’s growing drum n bass scene. Vortex’s signature blend of hard hitting beats with liquid smooth bass lines always gets the crowd grooving. He can also be caught exploring dubstep, UK funky broken beats, deep house, bossa nova, and hip-hop.

Vortex has shared deck duties with international DJs like Goldie, Pendulum, LTJ Bukem, London Elektricity, DJ Marky, Concord Dawn, Makoto, Jenna G, Nutone, Utah Jazz and more. Vortex has also spread his sound to other cities like London, Amsterdam, Osaka, Bangkok, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur.

Like so many of us, we have been listening to Drum & Bass for a number of years, and Pete Rann‘s name would have come up at some point of your Drum&Bass music adventure. As a producer, Pete Rann have had great success with release on Good Looking Records, Fokus, Vibes and Strictly Digital and now his own imprint “PeteRann Music”.

Pete Rann’s music have had a big impact on some of the liquid/melodic Drum & Bass being played in early 2000, tunes like “Everyway b/w My Love” released on Fokus and “Zero Gravity b/w Mind Fuel” released on Good Looking Records.

We are very much honoured to have this mix by Pete, as he had played a huge part in our the history of Drum &  Bass for us here at Kongkretebass.
Watch out of more release on his imprint “Pete Rann Music” - The debut entitled `The running man` was released in November 2010 and the second entitled `Run don`t walk` was released in summer 2010.

KONGKAST number 122 is here!
Doshy (Robox Neotech / Germany) – “Try to make future-art,  not retro-art, todays retro-art are in a way wrong because this art were a view into the future at their time. Take the influences  and form it into new ideas .”

Having witness Doshy in Hong Kong for Heavy in November 2009, we were extremely impressed with his sound and selection. Playing some of the more glitch styles of dubstep, Doshy sure is an Future-Art-ist.

Being the dubstep forerunner of the up and coming Berlin scene, Doshy’s tunes are funky, massive dancefloor stompers with massive futurebass and partysounds from outerspace.

Kongkretebass Presents: KODE9 (HyperDub / UK) @ Backstage, HK – Sat, 25.09.2010

Hong Kong’s bass music cultivators, Kongkretebass, are back this September with another forward thinking booking! On Saturday, 25th September we will introduce one of the legends of UK Dubstep / Grime / Bass Music scene, KODE9 (HyperDub / UK).

► Having just release a mix on the infamous DJ-Kicks compilation, KODE9, the head honcho of the record label “Hyperdub” will grace the dex in Hong Kong for the first time!

Kode9 has released tracks on Aphex Twin’s Rephlex label, pioneering dubstep labels Tempa, Domino and his own Hyperdub imprint and has remixed artists such as the Junior Boys and Dabrye Feat.

Hyperdub label releasing artists such as the Spaceape, Warrior Queen, the Bug and Burial, and now with the latest release of Ikonika’s ablum on Hyperdub – “Contact, Love, Want, Have”, which is truly ground breaking in every sense .

► Kongkretebass is extremely proud to be able to introduce one of the living legends in the Dubstep scene to Hong Kong. We are pretty pumped for this one!

The latest project by Kongkretebass’ DJ Wash – “Rebearth – Connect the Dots (DJ Wash Remix)”

We’ve been sitting on this for a bit, and now it’s finally done!
A new audio of “Rebearth – Connect the Dots (DJ Wash Remix)” is up online now!

The original version of “Connect the Dots” has been one of DJ Wash’s favourite from the forthcoming material by Rebearth, and DJ Wash was lucky enough to do a remix for this.
