New Dubstep mix: Kongkast # 122 – feat. Doshy (Robox Neotech / Germany)

DOSHY
KONGKAST number 122 is here!
Doshy (Robox Neotech / Germany) – “Try to make future-art,  not retro-art, todays retro-art are in a way wrong because this art were a view into the future at their time. Take the influences  and form it into new ideas .”

Having witness Doshy in Hong Kong for Heavy in November 2009, we were extremely impressed with his sound and selection. Playing some of the more glitch styles of dubstep, Doshy sure is an Future-Art-ist.

Being the dubstep forerunner of the up and coming Berlin scene, Doshy’s tunes are funky, massive dancefloor stompers with massive futurebass and partysounds from outerspace.

Many thanks, DOSHY for this excellent selection for KONGKAST – Asia’s drum n bass and dubstep podcast.

New dubstep mix: Kongkast # 120 – feat. Tunnidge (Deep Medi, Origin Audio, ChestPlate /UK)

KONGKAST number 120 is here! And we couldn’t be happier to have this mix!

The unmistakable sound of TUNNIDGE (Deep Medi, Origin Audio, ChestPlate /UK).

Tunnidge has established him self as one of the heavyweight of the Dubstep scene. For those who knows, Geddeon/Face Melt remains a classic 12″ that will batter the best of sound systems and leave the dance floor well and truly slain.
With releases on Deep Medi Musik, Boka and forthcoming ChestPlate (7 Breaths b/w Fear), and one of Kongkretebass’ favorite release of “Lights/Ding Ding” produced alongside Cyrus on their Origin Audio imprint, Tunnidge has established him self as the purveyor of deep, dark, sub-driven beats.

Many thanks, Tunnidge for this awesome deep and heavy weight dubstep mix for KONGKAST – Asia’s drum n bass and dubstep podcast.

*** Please Note*** Due to the amount of Dubplates being dropped in the mix, we have had to go “advert-crazy” over some parts… we apologise for any inconvenience caused – we’re sure you’ll enjoy this mix none-the-less.

New mix out now! Kongkast # 118 – feat. Elemiz (Kongkretebass/ Hong Kong)

Yes yes – it’s finally here… Tropical summer and the long overdue Kongkast #118 featuring Kongkretebass’ other half – Electronic Mistress aka Elemiz!

Elemiz is the co-founder of Kongkretebass in Hong Kong and has been instrumental in nurturing the local scene with bass beats, since 2005. Whilst hosting club events presents the pleasure of meeting many inspiring artists, it was developing her own DJ skills that opened great opportunities for Elemiz. She’s been able to represent her own sound in clubs in China, Thailand and of course Hong Kong.

Getting technical has even tickled Elemiz’ interest in studio production, joining only a hand-ful of dubstep producers in the area. Her remix of Don Goliath’s track ‘Mrs U’ was released digitally in early 2009.

In March 2010, Elemiz started her latest project, the Sonic Step Sisters events, as a much-needed playground for herself and guest DJs to showcase a blend of future beats and urban sounds. In which her current tastes range from tropical percussive, Uk Funky influenced, 4/4 party tunes all the way to contemplative, sub-driven, glitched up dubstep… bare bass!

Hear for yourself – Elemiz in the mix exclusively for KONGKAST – Asia’s drum n bass and dubstep podcast.

New mix! Kongkast # 117 – feat. FORSAKEN (Soul Motive, Immerse, Punch Drunk/ Bristol, UK)

KONGKAST number 117 proudly features Bristolian producer FORSAKEN, whose original productions span flavours from dubstep, garage and grime to house music.

Forsaken is Pete Thomas, label co-owner of Soul Motive and one of Bristols super creative breed of music makers. Obsessed with combining all his influences in his creations, he released on two of the most highly acclaimed Dubstep labels, Punch Drunk and Soul Motive, soon turning heads in the scene to critical acclaim. Though not hugely appealing to just any dance floor situation, Forsaken music is much more appreciated as a creatively sculpted intricate listening experience.

Isola Dusk is Forsaken’s latest musical project – a collaboration of 3 established artists (Forsaken himself, Ben Blackmore on guitars & a vocalist Alice Marie-Archer) weaving influences from broken beat, blues, folk, dubstep and house into a unique new sound.

With this week’s exclusive mix, take a peek at what currently inspires the Forsaken mind.

Many thanks, Pete, for sharing your selection on KONGKAST – Asia’s drum n bass and dubstep podcast.

KONGKAST #116 – FEAT. Concussion Crew (Finland) ONLINE NOW!

KONGKAST number 116 features a low frequency crew from Finland – The Concussion Crew (Finland).

Made up for three members (Elysion, M-za & Stinks), The Concussion Crew have done it all. From Radio/website host, to being in the finals of a top National DJ Championship “LazerPoint”, to hosting parties in different clubs and smashing it down “Finns” styles here in Hong Kong! (Yes Stinks is a stinker on the 1s&2s!) – This crew has only one thing in mind “Bassweighty Music”.

Kongkrete Bass have had the pleasure to meet one third of The Consussion Crew – Stinks – here in Hong Kong, we have been nothing but impressed with his taste in Dubstep music and we have been extremely keen to see what kinda flavors of Bass Music they’re into in Finland, and we were NOT disappointed! This Dancefloor concentrated mix of Drum and Bass & Dubstep is defo a good representation of what their definition of “BassWeighty”. BIG UPS!

Big Up to Elysion of the Concussion Crew for repping his crew with this exclusive mix on this week’s KONGKAST – Asia’s drum n bass and dubstep podcast.
