New Bass Music mix: Kongkast # 175 – feat. ENA (7even Recordings, HE:Digital, F4TMusic / Tokyo, Japan)

This week, we bring you one of our favorite Producers straight out of Tokyo, Japan  - ENA (7even Recordings, HE:Digital, F4TMusic / Tokyo, Japan).

Having been introduced to ENA‘s music and sounds a few years ago by Greg G (7even Recordings), we have familiarized our selves with ENA‘s releases. Not restricted to BPMs, ENA is a Bass Music producer who has been influenced by early drum & bass and abstract hip hop, quoting names like Photek, Krush, Source direct or Renegade Hardware. This has escalated him ton release on label UK, France, Spain, US, Germany and Russia, as well as collabolation with Naibu and the mighty Loxy.

Many thanks to ENA for this very unique Bass Music mix on Kongkast!

Month of Dresden Week 4: Kongkast # 172 – feat. DNZ @ Fat Fenders Record Store / Dresden, Germany

Number four in our “MONTH OF DRESDEN” series features DNZ, a well-versed and respected DJ and also co-owner of the infamous Fat Fenders Record Store. His shop, a vital socialising hot-spot for many of the city’s bass, techno and house crews, recently found itself caught in an overwhelming wave of support after it was struck by a fire just over 2 months ago.

Since picking up his long loved hobby of DJing in 1990, DNZ has turned this hobby into a serious business in 2001, when him and good friend Fabian started running the Fat Fenders Record Store in Dresden.

Musically, DNZ draws his early influences from the (now defunct) cult Radio Station DT64 and its Hip Hop, Breakbeat and Hip House radio shows.

These days DNZ is seen sharing stages with his “Funky Monkey” and “Tropenfieber” crews, as well as a support for visiting artists such as Jamie Lidell, DaM-FunK, James Pants, Flako, Thavius Beck, Daedelus and many more.

It’s a great pleasure to have DNZ represent Fat Fenders on KONGKAST.

Hope you’ll enjoy!

More info about DNZ @ Fat Fenders:
DNZ – one of Dresden finest Dj’s.

Known for his versatile Style, whether it is Dubstep, Electronic, Hip Hop or soulful Funk, you can be sure he will knock you of your Feet!

Dennis developed his love for Music from early on, having a Dad who played in a Band and a Sister who made him Dance! She was also the one who bought him his first ever Record in 1986.

Influenced by the GDR Radio Station DT64 Dennis got hungry, especially for the Hip Hop / Breakbeat / Hip House Radio Shows. Hence, he stepped into the Dj game around 1990. What once started as a Dj at a School Disco has become a serious Vinyl Business.

Since 2001 he is running the legendary “Fat Fenders” Record Store in Dresden together with his good friend Fabian. No wonder that DNZ is always at the forefront and the first to play these hot Tunes.

Today DNZ is sharing Stages with & supports Artists such as Jamie Lidell, DaM-FunK, James Pants, Flako, Thavius Beck, Daedelus and many more. He is also a Member of the “Tropenfieber” Crew and one of those Funky Monkeys at Altes Wettburo.

New FutureBass mix: Kongkast # 160 – feat. ELEMIZ (Sonic Step Sisters, Kongkrete Bass, fut:r / Dresden, Germany)

It’s done! Another year packed with exciting fresh  music comes to an end.
This year we celebrated KONGKAST’s 5th anniversary with 30 DJ mixes from across Asia-Pacific, Europe and the USA. We thank every single artist for being part of it. And we thank you all for tuning in every time and sending your feedback – it means a lot to us and keeps us rolling! In case you’ve missed a few sets, go grab them from the big vault on either iTunes or here: http://kongkretebass.com/kkblog/?page_id=4

Now for the final mix of 2011, and long overdue, Kongkretebass co-founder  ELEMIZ is back with a selection of Future Bass treats, this time  ranging from 80’s tinged housey vibes to more sub-heavy, dubby rollers.

Since her last KONGKAST mix middle of 2010, and after almost a decade living in Asia, Elemiz has relocated to her native Germany and continues pushing the bass vibes in her new home Dresden. Within the past year, she has been able to establish herself as a regular face around the DJ circuit in her own city, hosting her own nights as well as playing a number of gigs around the region. For 2012, Elemiz has a few fresh ideas in store for promotion as well as picking up some studio work again. Stay tuned!

We are wishing you all a great finish to 2011 and the best year yet in 2012! Stay happy, healthy and bass-heavy always!

New Dubstep mix: Kongkast # 158 – feat. INFRA (Dubmarine, Impulse, F4TMusic, Shadowdub / Berlin, Germany)

Finally! We’re back after a delay due to unforeseen reasons, but, we’re back with a very special guest mix from a newer producer we have picked up on. This week on Kongkast – We bring to you one of the Berlin, Germany’s Dubstep Producers - INFRA (Dubmarine, Impulse, F4TMusic, Shadowdub / Berlin, Germany)

We were first introduced to INFRA’s music through our very own Elemiz, who was pleasantly surprised by INFRA‘s deep dark heavy sounds.
INFRA  tunes consist of solid pumping Halfstep rhythms, brought to life by analog drums morphing into synthetic impulses and hypnotizing synth coloured atmospheres, that resonate in your head long after you hear them. With a background as a drummer for more than eight years, it is only natural that INFRA’s beats have a very high resolution in depth and therefore feature a lot of details and density to create thrilling sensations.

In summer of 2011 will release the SONIC EP that encapsulates his style of Dubstep. The EP includes a track that is completely situated on the darker side within the deep Halfstep universe and features F4TMusic boss M3T4. Other collaborations include working with SPECIES, known for his shocking Darkstep tunes, with whom he has his first vinyl release on SHADOWDUB, coming later this year.

Many thanks to INFRA for this exclusive mix for us at Kongkretebass!
