This week’s KONGKAST features Singapore champion KIAT with a sneak preview of our RADAR#4 feat. KIAT and DUBWISE event this Saturday, 16th May 2009, in Hong Kong!

As one of South East Asia’s pioneers of the drum & bass sound, KIAT championed the darker side of electronica with quality breaks, rolling bass-lines and leftfield influences over many years.

KIAT’s tunes are now sought after by the top shelf DJs in the scene – Goldie, Doc Scott, Marky,
Marcus Intalex, A-sides, S.P.Y, Storm, Amit, Digital, Alleycat, Bailey, Vapour, Gremlinz, London Electricity and Fabio. The Singaporean has also been featured as “Leader of the Nu-Skool” in

“Kongkretebass proudly presents the continuation of their RADAR music series this year… When on the 16th of May, Kongkretebass once again roll up equipped with their carefully picked artists and a full sound system, promising nothing but a banging night of quality dnb music!

What started in early 2006 for us with a focus on exposing regional talent in Drum and Bass music to HK ears, continues this May by inviting rising talent from sunny Singapore! Dj/ Producer KIAT is one of the head honchos in the South East Asian Drum and Bass scene. KIAT, who is currently celebrating great successes with his tracks releasing on a number of the scene’s most important labels (Metalheadz/ Rufige, Hospital Recordings, Soulr, Function …), has already earned much respect from some of the heavy weights like Goldie, Doc Scott, DJ Marky, Marcus Intalex to name a few.

DUBWISE is Dj/ producer duo Kable and Castro. The two are responsible for the development and promotion of the Dubstep & other bass heavy genres in Singapore, with trademark underground nights such as “Dubwise” and more recently “Mutant Dub”.

This week on KONGKAST! Special guest mix by one of the local talents from Malaysia – DJ Anowl (Loops Collective, Resistive / Malaysia).

Anowl started exploring the music and scene himself yet started DJing in 2003. From then, he has spinned in major Drum N Bass private parties in the same year. A 2nd generation event organizer with the Loops Collective DNB team, recently claimed several massive nights such as Liquid Jump Up Series at 2 prominent locations within Kuala Lumpur.
Collaborating closely with Loops Collective founder, DJ Low, the team along with the local junglist-troopers are slowly but surely infecting the post-shuffler generation with a less ridiculous alternative.
