Yes Yes! We are back with yet another heavy weight Drum and Bass mix. At Kongkretebass, we always try to deliver different flavors of Drum and Bass (and Dubstep) – and this week’s mix does just that.
Kongkast #99 brings to you one of Kongkretebass’ favorite rising young producers in the scene – The Netherland’s Proxima (Shogun LTD, Frequency, Crunch Recordings). With releases on labels such as Shogun LTD, Frequency, Crunch, Inneractive and Renegade Recordings, Proxima’s signature beats and bass have been supported by the big names in the scene.
Since his first release on Renegade Recordings, Kongkretebass has been keeping a keen ear on his wicked productions and this time around he shows us how it’s done in the mix.

Dub be good to you! KONGKAST #98 features dubstep vibes from Bangkok’s DJ Dragon, Thailand’s pioneering force in drum & bass and dubstep music.
DJ Dragon alongside close friends has been instrumental in nurturing an underground electronic music scene in Bangkok since 1999. Via radio shows (Channel V/ Fat Radio, and currently GTRonline and UB Radio), own productions and club nights, he has attracted a solid following over the years. And there’s no stopping him, as DJ Dragon’s latest popular creation DUBWAY, Bangkok’s monthly dubstep themed night, recently celebrated its 1st year on the scene! Dragon’s blog website is a good read for new and reviews on that.

With the KONGKAST #97 Special we bring you a mash-up style mix from one of the most prolific deejays in the scratch and turntablism scene – KID FRESH.
No stranger to big stages and pumped-up crowds, German DJ Kid Fresh of the uberrespected Lordz Of Fitness crew, is proud holder of 3 World ITF DJ champion titles and 5 national DMC/ITF titles. Now based in Hong Kong, Kid Fresh has been making waves in the club land alongside DJ Enso with their enormously popular “Pimpin’ Aint Easy” and “Hype Nasty” club nights.
Since Kid Fresh wow-ed us with a Drum & Bass/ Mash up set as a surprise guest at last year’s Kongkretebass’ JungleBells 2008, we have been looking forward to featuring him in a KONGKAST special. Here you go – a journey from jungle and dnb to dubstep for y’all – Kid Fresh stylin’!

KONGKAST is 100! Our immensely popular podcast that was started by Kongkretebass DJ Wash 3 years ago, is going to see its 100th episode broadcast to the world this September.
In celebration of the KONGKAST BIG 100, we’re throwing ourselves a party here in Hong Kong. And you’re invited!
Our very special guest for this night is GOTH-TRAD. Considered to be Japan’s Grandmaster in electronic dub music, GOTH-TRAD has released numerous tracks on both Japanese and European labels, including Mala’s mighty Deep Medi Musik label. As an ambassador for the Asian sound he is highly recognised internationally – and to date is the only Asian artists to be invited to play at the UK’s legendary DMZ – the original dubstep parties.
We don’t need to tell you that this is going to sound massive!

The guys of White Label are probably the only 2 still active DJs of the original crews involved in introducing the sound of Jungle and Drum & Bass to Hong Kong in the late 1990s.
They have been spreading the bassline vibes in Hong Kong since these days. With their only recently defunct White Label monthly at music bar Yumla they have been keeping the sound steady on the clubbing radar throught the first years of the new century.

Kongkretebass KONGKAST #95 is here!
This week’s KONGKAST edition flies in from “down-under” with a special subsonic treat by the godfathers of the Australian dubstep and garage movement – DJs Farj and Paul Fraser.
The duo are the creators of Aquatic Lab Records, Australia’s first dubstep label – established in 2006. The label is currently celebrating their first album compilation (“Aquatic Lab Sessions Vol 1” – IN STORES NOW!) which features a diverse selection of Aquatic lab’s vinyl catalogue combined with previously unreleased material.

Kongkretebass KONGKAST #94 is here! This week, we up the bmp a few notches with a ‘dutty’ dnb dance floor mix from another resident DJ of Beijing’s The Syndicate crew – Blackie – exclusively in the mix for Kongkretebass.
Since his arrival in China back in 2004, Dj Blackie has swiftly connected with Beijing’s electronic music scene and become a celebrated dance floor killa, known for his driving dnb sets. Apart from performing for his crew The Syndicate, Blackie is also regularly seen in the spotlight alongside uber-respected promoters ’02culture’ at the popular Yen parties.
