This is it, the  final edition of our “MONTH OF DRESDEN” series is here. The weather has turned quite hot in Dresden over the last few days, and from where ever you are tuning in, you might just be able to catch some of that sweaty summer vibe in this mix by local crew High Finesse.
High Finessehave come together as a big musical family just over a decade ago, and are today well-known across the region for their diverse Fusion-Jungle sound. Together they have hosted numerous events, have run their own little club (the now defunct Galerie Disko), and are currently pushing a series of genre-bending larger scale events that bring together Drum & Bass and Techno.
While High Finesse are busy looking for a new home for their family club dreams, they keep on playing the music they (and we all) love.
Now listen in and enjoy. Happy summer, everyone!
Thanks to Fabian Leuchtmann & Corn Flex for representing HIGH FINESSE on KONGKAST.

About High Finesse:
High Finesse Bass Travels is a family-style Drum & Bass and Fusion-Jungle crew from Dresden, Germany. Active members are at the moment: Fabian Leuchtmann, Corn Flex, Tomtastic, Sirius, Albreax, Sam Francesco, Luke Gooding, Singin’ Paula Herself.
The crew was founded in June 2001, organising some famous-infamous genre-crossing parties in a venue called Pentacon (no joke, only one letter saved them from becoming imperialists, back then). Since almost all members had already been friends before, at that time High Finesse was nothing more than just a name they had to come up with in order to be recognized in town. For them, organising parties was basically about combining two things they liked to do: hanging out with friends and playing any kind of good jungle music.
This all became a bit more serious by the end of 2007 when they got the chance to take over Dresden’s legendary little club „Galerie Disko“. Suddenly, they were responsible for something more that just their crew, something with more importance – not only to them but to almost the entire electronic music scene in Dresden. During great 1,5 years of running this venue they saw how easy genre borders could disappear in people’s heads when the atmosphere is right. That was an inspiring time of growth – as a crew and with other crews from bass music right up to house and techno.
Since the forced closure of Galerie Disko High Finesse, have been looking for a new music playground. Meanwhile, they continue running the weekly BASSKUSCHELN night on Thursdays at bar BON VOYAGE, where different crews and Djs get to showcase their smoother bass music delicacies. What’s more, High Finesse have initiated a series of larger events under the name of DEPROGRAMMING, where they strive to take down the walls between Techno and Drum & Bass – as it used to be in Dresden in the 90s.
Style-wise the crew draws from a big spectrum and like to play anything from fluffy sunset sessions to hypnotic, rolling and pumping joyrides. It can basically be anything going by the name Drum & Bass, Jungle or Dubstep. Stereotypical pigeonholing hurts, so they rather don’t do it.
