It’s done! Another year packed with exciting fresh  music comes to an end.
This year we celebrated KONGKAST’s 5th anniversary with 30 DJ mixes from across Asia-Pacific, Europe and the USA. We thank every single artist for being part of it. And we thank you all for tuning in every time and sending your feedback – it means a lot to us and keeps us rolling! Now for the final mix of 2011, and long overdue, Kongkretebass co-founder  ELEMIZ is back with a selection of Future Bass treats, this time  ranging from 80′s tinged housey vibes to more sub-heavy, dubby rollers.

Since her last KONGKAST mix middle of 2010, and after almost a decade living in Asia, Elemiz has relocated to her native Germany and continues pushing the bass vibes in her new home Dresden. Within the past year, she has been able to establish herself as a regular face around the DJ circuit in her own city, hosting her own nights as well as playing a number of gigs around the region. For 2012, Elemiz has a few fresh ideas in store for promotion as well as picking up some studio work again. Stay tuned!

Yes yes! Kongkast is back with a deep and rolling Drum & Bass mix with a  difference.
This week, we’re bring you 1/3 of the well known Drum&Bass trio “Bachelors Of Science” - Lukeino (Bachelors of Science, Sublife Recordings – San Francisco).

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Luke Argilla (akaLukeino) have been involved in music all his life. From guitar at the young age of 13, to the early vibrant underground Jungle and DnB scene in San Francisco.

As a solo artist Lukeino has released tracks on labels like Levitated, Rubik, as well as his own Sublife Recordings. His tuneshave been featured on BBC 1xtra, Fuel TV and even the #1 iPhone gameapp Tap Tap Revenge. Around 2007 he met up with the Bachelors ofScience and soon after started collaborating with them on tracks. A fewyears later, after many late nights, and a string of great shows, they invited Luke to be the 3rd official member of the group.

Finally! We’re back after a delay due to unforeseen reasons, but, we’re back with a very special guest mix from a newer producer we have picked up on. This week on Kongkast – We bring to you one of the Berlin, Germany’s Dubstep Producers - INFRA (Dubmarine, Impulse, F4TMusic, Shadowdub / Berlin, Germany)

We were first introduced to INFRA’s music through our very own Elemiz, who was pleasantly surprised by INFRA‘s deep dark heavy sounds.
INFRA  tunes consist of solid pumping Halfstep rhythms, brought to life by analog drums morphing into synthetic impulses and hypnotizing synth coloured atmospheres, that resonate in your head long after you hear them. With a background as a drummer for more than eight years, it is only natural that INFRA’s beats have a very high resolution in depth and therefore feature a lot of details and density to create thrilling sensations.

In summer of 2011 will release the SONIC EP that encapsulates his style of Dubstep. The EP includes a track that is completely situated on the darker side within the deep Halfstep universe and features F4TMusic boss M3T4. Other collaborations include working with SPECIES, known for his shocking Darkstep tunes, with whom he has his first vinyl release on SHADOWDUB, coming later this year.

This week on Kongkast – We feature a production mix by one of our favourite  artist who is based in Shanghai - Steven Lorenz (Intransik Beats, Rankadank Records / Shanghai, China).

Having heard his release Dubstep releases on Rankadank records, as well as techno release on his imprint “Intransik Beats”, we have been very impressed by Steven Lorenz sounds.
As a young artist who is now based in Shanghai, China, Steven has performed in most of the well known Shanghai Clubs, including a residency in our favourite club in China – The Shelter.

Check out this mix which is full of Steven Lorenz’s own productions as well as tunes from one of Sub-Culture (Shanghai)’s resident – Esia.

This week on Kongkast – We feature one one half of SILK Recordings – Balistics (Silk Recordings / NZ).

Silk Recordings consists of Matt Balistics & Jamie Forge. As the label manager, Matt Balistics is extremly passionate about the drum & bass sound & after over 8 years of djing experience, 6 of them doing a weekly radio show, he was more than happy to step up to the plate & broaden his horizons in the industry. His first involvement was with Synth Sense & Anile’s debut release on Silk Recordings, who have since become long term friends.

Having a consistant line of digital releases, Silk Recordings is soon to release its first & highly anticipated LP from Finnish producer Furi Anga. From the beginning it has been a long term aim for Silk to release music in the format both Balistics & Forge found this sound on, vinyl.

DJ Wash is the latest addition to Rankadank Records with this banging debut release. Based in Hong Kong, Wash runs one of the biggest DNB & Dubstep podcasts in Asia “Kongkast” and is renowned for his rolling sets.
